The best is spring water direct from the source. This water is also 'vortexed' in its fourth phase and is highly bioavailable, more on that in another post soon. For most of us, Springs are not close at hand and we need to look at filtration or distillation. No solution is perfect. Filters don't get rid of everything. Distillers get rid of too much and the water needs to be remineralised. I've used basic water filters for years. However, after understanding what is not only in our water supply but in some major brand bottles water, I decided to try a water distiller. We reviewed the machine and made an 'unwrapping video ' below. Reasons to chose this company Made of steel & glass (better than plastics. Hot water and plastics are a bad combo) Auto-off switch (many boil dry and become hard to clean) Great prices. Currently discounted There are cheaper distillers, but since most last 18 months of continuous its good that these have a two year warranty. The company uses paypal part-payment allowing payments over a few months Good reviews UPDATE: SEE OUR REVIEW BELOW Minerals ideally need to be added back to the water. A few of these mineral drops per 4 litres will do the trick. (please read instructions for recomended quantity) UNPACKING VIDEO Anchor 1 NOTB REVIEW SOUND 6/10 All distillers hum due to the noise from their cooling fans. The noise bothered me, but not my partner. (see the video to hear it) Some might prefer to keep this machine in an outhouse or in a cupboard, others will be happy to have it in their kitchen. TIP: A good strategy is to switch the distiller on overnight, meaning you won't hear the noise and you'll will have 4 litres of water that has cooled by the morning. BUILD QUALITY 7/10 As you can see in the video the handle was loose on ours. It didn't affect carrying the jar. Besides, two hands are needed to manage the glass vessel when full, as 4 litres is over 4kg. The cut off switch is vital (some distillers don't have this) and the rest of the quality feels sturdy. TIP: We suggest decanting the four litres into cleaned glass wine bottles and refrigerating for ease of use. VISUAL 8/10 The stainless steel unit looks good. The glass jar is a must. The water comes out hot and needs to cool inside a safe material. WATER PURITY 9.9/10 Distilled water backed by the carbon filter in the nozzle creates one of the cleanest sources, ideal for urban dwellers. TIP: The water needs to be remineralised. The minerals will have of a positive health benefit. TIP TWO: an affordable way is to add a pitch of Good salt which we sell very affordably here VALUE 9.5/10 This is the best value water distiller we have found. Good quality competitors are double the price. Cheaper competitors don't offer an extended warranty. (If you think you have found a better quality/value ratio machine please let us know.) We don't recommen d seco nd- hand unless you know it has had low use. OVERALL 8/10 CONCLUSION If you can collect or buy natural spring water from a trusted source, do so! NEVER buy any bottled water by the large international companies! Distilling guarantees clean water. On the downside, the machines are noisy and need power. In these uncertain times a machine like this is proving an invaluable tool. They also make a good emergency back-up in case things get worse, even if not used daily .
